On 28-09-2024, the "Himachali in Pune Samagam 3" took place at Cedar Oak, Poona Club, bringing together over 45 Himachalis working and residing in Pune. The gathering was a joyful blend of young professionals and senior citizens, all coming together to share stories, laughter, and a sense of belonging through conversations in their native Himachali language.

Our Vision for the Group

During the event, we discussed the vision of our community, emphasizing the importance of supporting one another in a new city while staying true to our roots. Key points of the discussion included:

ree

Helping Himachalis New to Pune: The group aims to assist fellow Himachalis who come to Pune for the first time, offering guidance and support to help them settle smoothly.

Emergency Support: Whether it’s medical help, job assistance, or any urgent need, the group will act as a safety net for its members.

Cultural Preservation: We are committed to keeping the spirit of Himachal alive in our hearts while also embracing the culture and values of Pune. Himachal is our janmabhoomi (birthplace), but Pune is our karambhoomi (workplace), and both deserve our respect.

Adhering to Group Values: To maintain the integrity of the community, we reaffirmed our commitment to the group’s principles, which include avoiding the forwarding of unnecessary messages, refraining from hate speech, keeping political discussions off the platform, and sharing only Facebook or Instagram links and videos related to our culture.

Looking Ahead: Building a Stronger Community

The Samagam was not just a celebration, but also a step toward building a stronger Himachali community in Pune. We aspire to welcome more members into our fold, extending our hand to others who share our heritage. Plans are already underway for our next big event on Lohri next year, where we will continue this tradition of unity and cultural celebration.

With every Samagam, we come closer to fulfilling our vision—honoring our roots while flourishing in our new home.
